| RATES FOR PROJECTS - Rates vary depending on the density of text and depth of index.
- Rates can range from $2.00 per page for trade publications with many photographs, for example, to $6.50 per page for reference publications, with many entries per page.
- Scholarly texts with more than ten entries per page average about $3.75 to $6.50 per page.
- All rates are negotiable, and it is best to fax about 6 to 10 pages from two or three of the middle chapters for an evaluation of the density of text, complexity of material, and type of index for each publication.
